what is your dream holiday ?

how to make Cinnamon pinwheels

Ingredients:

2 Cups Plain Flour

4 teaspoons Baking Powder

1 teaspoon Salt

2 Tablespoons white sugar

 60g Butter

¾ - 1 Cup of Milk

filling

70-g Butter - Melted

⅓ Cup   soft brown sugar

1 Tablespoon Cinnamon

You don't need to put the 

Glaze on if you want it

Sweet put the glaze on

Glaze (Optional)

1 Cup icing sugar

½ teaspoon Vanilla

1-3 Tablespoons Water 

Yummy cinnamon pinwheels the taste is the best looks just perfected

Preheat Oven to 200C

Line a Roasting Dish or Baking Tray with cooking spray and baking paper and set aside

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and white sugar  into a medium bowl.

Add cold butter – cut into smallish pieces.

Using your fingers rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs and no large bits of butter are there.

Add almost all the milk at once, keeping a little aside in case. It should be soft and sticky, if a little dry looking add the remaining milk, stir in quickly, but be careful not to overstir (some say use a knife to "cut" in the milk)

Tip the dough onto a floured board or bench. Knead and fold 8 – 10 times, sprinkling flour as required.

Then roll out to a square about 30 x 30cm (12in)

Filling

Melt butter in a small bowl

Add to this the soft brown sugar and cinnamon and mix well. Using a pastry brush or knife spread butter & sugar mixture over the dough, leaving a small edge all the way around (alternatively brush the butter and add the combined sugar & cinnamon to it dry).

Roll carefully and tightly, and seal the edge with a little of the left over mixture.

Using a sharp knife slice the pinwheels between 1-2 cm thick and place in the prepared dish.

Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and remove from the oven.

While cooking prepare the glaze.

Glaze

In a medium bowl, add the sifted  icing sugar and vanilla.

Add water a small amount at a time stirring well until you have a smooth but drizzle-able consistency.

Once the scones are removed from the oven, using a dessert spoon drizzle the glaze over the pinwheels back and forward until you have evenly covered them.

Serve still slightly warm.

Swimming with school

W.A.L.T:To write a recount about our swimming

Swimming with school

For the last two weeks Room 3 and the whole of NBC go to QEII and have been gulping water and working our arms out. This is to learn how to be better swimmers. The first day of swimming was just to see what groups we would be in for the next two weeks. Some of us were in the big pool and some in the little pool I was in the big pool. The second week my instructor was teaching us how to to move our shoulders side to side in backstroke and she talked about freestyle, breastroke and how to do them better. Then on Friday, on the first week we got to wear flippers and we just went through the water like fish now I see how fish are very fast. Then for the second week we all learnt how to be in a group to survive in the water with lifejackets. The next day we learnt how to get out of the boat nice and safely we also learnt how to save people with  bag ropes. Today is Friday we get to learn in our pj to be safe in our clothes.

For my post I had to play a game and then tell you the  instructions for this game over all this post was a bit easily I really enjoyed this post.

The best hut day

                                            W.A.L.T: having a good attitude pays off.

Today we had our reward and our reward was to bring a blanket to school. Then build a hut I was in a hut with Charlotte Hunter and Brad. So what I learnt here was that being good pays off. This was a fun reward at first I wasn't a big fan of it but overall I think I would like to do this reward again. It was really fun and I think my class all enjoyed it.

Once upon a time there were three little pigs. They went to go and get some things for their houses. The wolf came over and said to the three little pigs do you know where my friend said I could eat three pigs. So the three little pigs though they were going to get eating. Then they ran and ran but the wolf said I need you for my dinner the the wolf said I mean some things for my dinner.

The wolf said I need you to help me so they came back to him he said come in here it was his house but they didn't know that. Then the wolf said i am so funny i’m going to eat you now. The pigs ran and ran around in his house but the wolf couldn't get them the pigs got to the door and ran out it was dark and there were big trees everywhere there was a big lake the wolf didn't like water. So they had to jump in and they were lost they didn't know where they were

Reflection on winter sports

Today we had winter sports on our first game with the year 5-6 . We were playing Rawhiti they had times that they were very good and we had times that we were very good. But there was only one team that won and it was 2-0 to us we had lot of teamwork. then we played one more game and we played Queens park did very good and they were good. But at the end of the day it was 1-0 to them but we did very good it was so much fun.

Reflection of the big game.

Today we had winter sports on the first game we played Rawhiti, it was a little bit hard we all did our best, it was great but at the end it was 0-0 .
On the next game we won 1-0 it was a little hard but i´m looking forward to next week for a good, hard game but i think me and my team had fun. I think it was the best out of the -3 weeks we´ve had.

8. if you see some think on the ground you should pick it up.
9. if someone is siting by there self you could go over and sit with them.

the flying eye

The Flying eyes

The flying eyes are first found in wikipedia in there swamps. It's called a flying eye because there eyes open up and there wings come out from the back. Then it flies it is 800 mm long.

At night time in the wikipedia swamps. There are trees that grow out of the swamp and the flying eyes sleep.

Around the swamp there eggs are hatching.

All day long they go hunting for food. There they get for their babies and to snack on when there hungry. They store there food in there swamp trees.They eat meat like people and other animals.

There special features are that there eyes can turn into fire to hunt their food. And they can smell there food for 8 miles away.
